About Sherry
A Journey Rooted in Healing
My journey toward becoming a therapist has always been driven by a deep curiosity about healing. When I was 23, I traveled to the Himalayas in India, where I immersed myself in meditation and learned Tibetan Thangka painting, inspired by the teachings of the Dalai Lama. A few years later, at 25, I began my formal studies in healing practices in Boulder, Colorado. I explored a variety of physical and spiritual healing modalities, including Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and shiatsu massage. These diverse experiences helped me understand healing on a deeper level—an understanding I bring to my psychotherapy practice.
A Blend of Tradition and Holistic Practices
My approach to therapy is influenced by both traditional psychology and holistic healing practices. With a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, I’ve spent over 30 years working with individuals and couples to help them heal from trauma, emotional neglect, and the pain of their past experiences. More recently, my studies in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR have deepened my ability to treat trauma, helping clients break free from the patterns that hold them back.
How I Work
In therapy, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where we can work collaboratively to explore your inner world. My approach is open and curious, grounded in compassion and infused with humor when appropriate. While I let you take the lead in our sessions, I’m always here to provide guidance if you feel uncertain or lost.
I help clients to:
Reduce anxiety and depression
Increase self-acceptance and joy
Enhance creativity and energy
Foster intimacy and communication in relationships
A Creative, Compassionate Perspective
Drawing from my background in the arts and Eastern philosophy, I offer a unique perspective on healing that blends creativity, mindfulness, and traditional therapeutic methods. My goal is to help you connect with your own inner wisdom, empowering you to create lasting change in your life.
A Welcoming, Inclusive Space
I believe in creating a practice where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected. It is important to me that people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences feel welcome in my practice. Healing is for everyone, and I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment where you can explore and grow without fear of judgment.
